A strawberry hermit crab. Note that this one is almost white.

Coenobita perlatus is more commonly known as the 'strawberry' hermit crab because of its bright red or reddish brown colouring. It is a scavenger across the Indo-Pacific and is often known to be traded to hobby aquarists.

It is also one of the more rare hermit crabs found in the exotic pet trade.

It is also one of the most fragile hermit crab species of the genus Coenobita, as well as one of the most demanding of salt water.
